What Is Invisalign®?

  • Invisalign offers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional braces. It is an innovative system that uses a series of nearly invisible, clear, removable aligners that you change every week.
  • Each aligner is specifically designed and individually manufactured for your teeth. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will gradually move, week by week, until they have straightened to their final position.

  • The aligners are comfortable and less visible than traditional metal braces, making them a popular choice for adult patients. Invisalign is ideally suited to adult patients whose lifestyle or work commitments make it difficult for them to wear more visible conventional fixed braces.

Different Types Of Invisalign

The Different Types of Invisalign®

  • Invisalign Comprehensive
Used to treat the majority of orthodontic cases, ranging from moderate to severe malocclusion (when your upper and lower teeth don’t align); the treatment takes between 12 to 18 months to achieve the ideal result.

  • Invisalign Lite
Used to treat cases with minimal malalignment of the front six teeth; results can be achieved in approximately six months. This treatment can be less expensive than Invisalign Comprehensive as it is used for less severe cases.

Our iTero Digital Oral Scanner

We design your custom-made Invisalign aligners by taking precise measurements of your teeth using an advanced iTero 3-D Digital Scanner. This process creates 3D impressions of your teeth without the need for messy and uncomfortable impression materials.

The benefit of this system means we can use this digital scan to virtually plan your treatment so you can visualise how your teeth will look when you finish.

When can Invisalign® be used?

  • Mild to moderate dental irregularities.
  • Crowding which can be corrected with a mild to moderate expansion of the dental arch (the curve in your mouth round which your teeth fit).
  • Crowding which can be corrected by reducing the tooth width using interproximal reduction (where some of the tooth enamel between the teeth is removed to make the tooth slimmer).
  • Mild spacing issues.

The following cases are examples of when an aligner treatment may require the use of additional techniques to achieve an ideal result:

  • Severe crowding and / or treatments that require tooth extraction.
  • Treatments that require complex tooth movements.
  • Problems that reflect an underlying discrepancy in the size or position of the jaws.
